Untold X

Oliver Stone's "Untold History of the United States." As the series ends, so does the Republic.

Flip a card: on one side, the deformed bastard of a Wasp scion; the other, a parentless psychopath who is all things to all people, all people who can keep him as the droning center of anti-life. Either way, the corporate totalitarian walls reach the sky, in the new millenium's Murder Inc.

200 (plus 1)

War Nerd/Gary Brecher/(actually the great John Dolan) missed the bicentennial deadline by several weeks, but he's just completed an astounding 10-part series on the War of 1812, at what's become the best political site on the Net -- Mark Ames's Not Safe for Work.

Untold IX

Mikhail Gorbachev ends the Cold War. US Capital chooses one of its Wasp waterboys to succeed Reagan; and as the waterboy's sucessor Capital uncovers a rock in Arkansas, something crawls out which ends the welfare state; massively expands the "war on drugs," the US prison population, and the application of death sentences; privatizes much state enterprise; kills 100,000s of Iraqis via US sanctions; destroys the last socialist republic in Europe, Yugoslavia; moves NATO to the borders of Russia; builds oil pipelines throughout Central Asia; allows the American defense budget to explode in a war-less world; decapitates most domestic financial regulation while enforcing NAFTA and GATT -- as the money power engorges the planet. Leading to all-out cracker fascism.

The penultimate episode of Stone's "Untold History."

Leukemia

There are thousands of reasons Barack Hussein Obama will burn in hell, but his greatest sin in the eyes of God will be that he's made this country so fucking borrrrrrrring.

Does anyone deeply care about anything occuring anywhere at any level of US society? (Outside of sports.)

Compare this guy to Raygun, Nixon, or George W. The colors of the country were vivid then, with real passions festering and often exploding. Now, it's all room tone.

Except of course for the innocents being destroyed worldwide.
